    Immobilization of viral capsids through hydrophobic modification of surfaces


    This audio summarizes our contributions to the study of the adsorption of viral capsids on flat substrates by an original surface functionalization method. Organosilane induced hydrophobic functionalization allows on the one hand increasing the rate of adsorbed viral capsids. On the second hand, it allows increasing the rate of adsorption in precise symmetries (10.1116/1.5077010) or improve the statistics of data obtained during mechanical probing, allowing estimates of the elastic modulus and yield force of human adenovirus and reovirus (10.1016/j.colsurfb.2023.113136).
